The financial problem with this is that the flooding will cause dams to be built and cities to be reconstructed. The shortage in food will cause the price of the food to go up and with all the diseases, we will need more medical supplies and workers.
Scientists proved this by predicting, with computers, what the climate was in the past. Then, by looking back in records, they found that the predictions were close to being right.
Each day, the satellite made , measurements, each at a different place on the Earth. Measurements were all made between 66 degrees north and south latitudes. The Cretaceous period occurred over a hundred million years ago. It was the warmest period we have knowledge of yet.
There was so much carbon dioxide in the air that the oceans rose many meters. North America was flooded and split into two pieces.
The temperature then was more than 15 degrees greater than the average temperature today. While going through this cycle, it will change the climate of and area. Right now it is moving so that North America is going to be closer to the sun in the winter. Seasons become more extreme when the opposite happens.
This controls the cycle of ice ages. Volcanoes, when they erupt, send clouds of dust into the air blocking out sunlight. This would cool the Earth off more. Oceans are known to absorb carbon dioxide because of the ocean currents and the action of plankton.
There is some evidence that there is a naturally rapid climate change between each ice age, which confuses the whole global warming and idea. I think every human being should take part in the fight to stop global warming. The government is the key to this and they better do something soon or it will be too late. First, the American government should sponsor a meeting between the nations of this world. They should establish a committee for handling the money, politics, and scientific research in order to help cut back the emission of gases into the atmosphere.
Every country will contribute by donating money. If they refuse, they will be boycotted and the participating countries will sell nothing to them. Global warming is a big threat to our nation and the world. If we do not act now, it may be too late. Of course, there is no sure way of telling if there is actually a greenhouse effect, but let us not take any chances. Look at what is happening to this world, and you will see that there is a pollution problem.
There are steps being taken at this moment to reduce the gases put into the air, but it still is not enough. We need to cut back more by taking a few easy steps. Plant a tree, or take a bus or carpool to work instead of driving your own car. Those things may not seem like a lot, but if more and more people do it, it will make a difference. A good example of a massive greenhouse effect is Earth's planetary neighbour Venus. Because of Venus's thick CO2 atmosphere, the planet's cloud-covered surface is hot enough to melt lead.
The following are some of the main catastrophic events that would result from Global warming. When the temperature rises, water evaporates quicker. In some places, it doesn't rain much and the plant life depends on water from lakes and rivers. When the weather gets hotter, the water in that area evaporates and a drought occurs. The plant life would then die and there would be fewer plants to take carbon dioxide out of the air.
This would make crops die and hunger and thirst would be a fact of life. When it gets hotter, it is a known fact that ice melts. If Global Warming makes it hotter at the ice caps, large amounts of ice will melt, letting all the fresh water flow into the ocean. Tons and tons of ice will melt if it gets hot enough and this will cause sea levels to dramatically rise.
Coastal cities will flood, destroying many structures. A change in temperature would mean a significant change in weather. When the temperature grows warmer and more tropical, so will the weather. The catastrophic effects of Global Warming simply intensify winds, rains and storms. Carbon Dioxide CO2 was naturally in the air before humans were around. It was used to reflect heat back to the earth to keep it warm enough for life. But now humans have dramatically increased the level of CO2 in the air since the industrial.
Now we continue to emit the gas into the air with our cars, and our manufacturing, etc. Methane CH4 is another greenhouse gas that was in the air, naturally, before there were humans.
It is used a lot in industries as a starting material for many other chemicals. This gas is lighter than air, colourless, odourless, nontoxic, and highly flammable. It comes 8naturally from decomposing matter in swamps. Chlorofluorocarbons CFC's were never naturally in the air. This gas is used mostly in aerosol spray cans, refrigeration, air conditioning, cleaning solvents, and packing materials.
Not only is it a greenhouse gas and keeps infrared light from leaving, but it also damages the ozone layer. Nitrous oxide N20 was also never naturally in the air. Man put it there. Nitrous oxide is more known under the nickname. Well now I have told you about what causes Global Warming and what its effects are, but now, How do we stop it?
We stop it by making sure that there is an adequate amount of Oxygen in the air and by making sure that Carbon Dioxide levels are decreased.
The main gases that cause the greenhouse effect are water vapor, carbon dioxide (CO2), and methane, which comes mainly from animal manure. Other gases like nitrogen oxide and chloroflurocarbons, man made gases, get caught in the atmosphere as well.
This essay is going to describe what the greenhouse effect is and what it directlenders.ml is also going to say what causes the greenhouse effect and the consequences of it.
In this essay I will explain what global warming is, what causes it, how it is affecting us, and how we can stop it. The greenhouse effect is a common term for the effect that certain changes in the lower atmosphere have on temperatures. The Green House Effect Essay Sample What is a green house effect? The green house effect is the increase in temperature that occurs on the earth, because of the build up of certain gases in the atmosphere such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and nitrous oxide, which are trapped energy from the sun.
Green House Effect and Global Warming Essay 4 ( words) Greenhouse effect is the process on the earth planet caused by the gases trapping heat and energy from the various sources. Such gases are called as green house gas like CO2, methane, nitrogen oxide, CFCs, ozone, etc trap heat and warm the earth surface. Global Warming and the Greenhouse Effect Essay Words | 3 Pages Global Warming and the Greenhouse Effect The greenhouse effect, in environmental science, is a popular term for the effect that certain variable constituents of the Earth's lower atmosphere have on surface temperatures.
