The problem is usually in people explaining why something is deterministic or reductionist and if its made clear in the explanation and linked to the theory I personally dont see the issue. For your example you need to explain why exactly and add more depth, heres an example from my behaviourist treatment evaluation from my Psya4 Schizophrenia book:.
You cant leave a hanging statement — You need to explain why exactly. For your biological point — I think you need to expand it more to explain why with a bit more depth — perhaps give an example, perhaps something like totally off my head:. For example a study by XYZ showed that environment and learning does play a role.
Therefore the biological explanation is too reductionist as it is unable to explain this and there is clearly an interaction between genes and the environment occurring. It could be that a diathesis-stress model relationship is occurring where the genes may pre-dispose someone for certain vulnerabilities but only when particularly environmental stressors trigger them…etc etc…a totally generic example there that could probably be applied to most questions.
Hi Saj, really like your books. I was just wondering whether you will be bringing an anomalistic book out? Also with the bio rhythms how much info would I need to give in each rhythm. Hi Kaiser, Yes I plan to release books on all the other topics too by December time. My Sleep book has my essays for all the bio rhythm essays and should help you see how much is needed. Hi, Please could you tell me the predictions for OCD, media and research methods if you have any for them.
